What's Your Story

What's Your Story wants to know if you or someone close to you has had problems due to password privacy—or if you've figured out a secure way to share passwords on a need-to-know basis. For example, it can be nearly impossible to notify online friends of a loved one's death if his or her e-mail account is password protected.

We're preparing an article about prudent password sharing. If you have a story to tell, positive or negative, we'd love to hear it and share it with other readers. Tell us your experience and we may use your account to help develop the article.

Of course, we will protect your privacy. Submit your response here by Dec. 7, 2009.

Please include only your first name and the state where you live. If it's OK for us to follow up by e-mail to learn more about your experience, provide your e-mail address. We will use it for no purpose other than to develop the article.

In the meantime, read Keep Passwords Strong, Secret, and Safe.
