Cash Prizes

1. Eligibility.
You must be at least 18 years of age and a citizen of the United States to be eligible to win prizes. Employees and their immediate family members of Credit Union National Association, Inc. ("CUNA") are not eligible to win.

Contest begins December 19, 2007 at 12:00 AM CST and ends December 31, 2008 at 11:59 PM CST ("Entry Period").

3. How to Enter.
You must submit:
 

Your idea, your name, and your city and state of residence may be shared with the hosting credit union, by publication on this Home & Family Finance® Resource Center as well as in the Home & Family Finance® magazine, and on Home & Family Finance® Radio. You may enter as many times as you wish.

4. Judging.
After the last day of each month of the Entry Period, the Home & Family Finance® Resource Center editor(s) will select up to five (5) monthly winners from all appropriate eligible entries received during the preceding month. The ideas will be judged based on practicality (50%); usefulness (25%); and ease of implementation (25%). CUNA will notify each winner by e-mail (only) and request each winner's address for prize delivery. If a winner fails to provide his/her address within thirty (30) days of notification, the entrant whose idea ranked next on the winner's list will be notified of winning by email whenever possible.

5. Prizes.
There will be up to five (5) winning ideas selected and up to five (5) prizes awarded each month. Each winner will receive one (1) $50 VISA gift card and have his or her winning idea entered in the Annual Contest, with the chance to win a grand prize of one (1) $1,000 VISA gift card.

6. Annual Contest.
On February 1, 2009 all prize-winning ideas from the previous twelve (12) months will be posted on Home & Family Finance® Resource Center. Readers will be able to vote for the idea of their choice until February 29, 2009 at 11:59 PM CST ("Voting Period"). The idea with the most votes at the close of the Voting Period will receive one (1) $1,000 VISA gift card. In the event of a tie, the editor(s) of Home & Family Finance® Resource Center will determine the winner based on the judging criteria listed above.

7. General Terms and Conditions.
By participating, you certify that you are a United State's citizen and that you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judge(s), which shall be final and binding in all respects.

Odds of winning depend on the total number and quality of eligible entries received. Void where prohibited by law.

All federal, state, and local taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. Return of any prize and/or prize notification as undeliverable or failure of any entrant to comply with any of the Official Rules will result in disqualification. Except winners who are residents of the State of Tennessee, acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for CUNA and the hosting credit union, to use their names, city and state of residence and winning idea, online and in print, or any other media, for editorials, advertising and promotional purposes in connection with the Contest without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. Winners who are residents of Tennessee will be required to complete a separate release before prizes will be awarded.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, CUNA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT OR INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

8. Limitation of Liability & Release.
By entering, you release and hold harmless CUNA, its respective affiliates, directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents and representatives from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, claim, action, demand or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Contest or any prize won, participation in the Contest or in any Contest-related activity. CUNA is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by web site users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions in the Contest, including but not limited to any misprints or typographical errors. CUNA assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. CUNA is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer systems, servers or providers, equipment, software, failure of e-mail for any reason, injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this Contest. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of completion as planned because of circumstances beyond the control of CUNA which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, CUNA reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.
