The Retirement Confidence Survey, from the Employee Benefit Research Institute, Washington, D.C., perennially shows a significant number of American workers feeling anxious about their future financial security. One indicator of this uneasiness is a steadily rising anticipated age of retirement: In 1991, 11% of respondents expected to work after age 65, while 33% have that expectation today.
